What the Story of Joseph Teaches us in Genesis

The story of Joseph and his coat of many colors is one of the more popular books that we can find in the bible, especially within the text of Genesis. While most of us associate the book of Genesis to the story of Noah and the flood, the tale of Joseph and his family teaches us many important lessons that are still applicable today. When we analyze the book of Joseph, we find an engrossing read filled with many valuable lessons that we could expect to find in our day-to-day lives. In this contents of this book, we find a story that tells of a dysfunctional family in harmonic disarray. At the same time, it is a tale of the worst kind of backstabbing betrayal. At the same time, it tantalizingly depicts an account of a just man overcoming tremendous trials and tribulations. This accounts only for the surface level of what the valuable text offers to its readers. Just as it is a story of treachery, it is at the same time a story of reconciliation and reunion.
