Signs you’re dealing with a narcissist and what to do about it
There is a question branded into the back of my mind that I can’t seem to shake. The question in particular is one about narcissistic personality disorder or NPD. Depending on what source the reader is looking at, narcissism is the very epitome of an anomaly. According to various sources, it is estimated that only 0.5 to six percent of the general populace has the specific personality disorder under analysis. It is like running into an autistic person, someone who is a genius, or experiencing some rare astrological event; all these things fall in the ballpark of occurring three percent of the time; that is, they are an outlier, with a standard deviation far removed from the average sample. If this is the case -that NPD is so astronomically rare- how is it, then that so many millions of people are researching narcissism? How is it, that as of 2008, the topic of narcissism has become a gradually trending topic in search engines, showing no sign of giving up anytime soon? This didactic article provides an in-depth examination of various aspects of this malignant ailment, including the signs that the individual is dealing with someone with NPD, as well as touching on what you should do about it.
